Buon livello di cultura generale, livello B2/C1 per l’inglese scritto.

Una conoscenza del tema Intercultural communication. Si consiglia la lettura del seguente testo: Katan, David (2004/2014), Translating Cultures: An Introduction for Translators, Interpreters and Mediators, Routledge, London. Capitoli: 1-6; 9-12.

Le conoscenze da acquisire sono:

• teorie nuove della traduzione (foreignization/domestication, skopos, intercultural mediation, transediting, transcreation; PST: traduzione per i servizi pubblici)
• l’analisi testuale e stilistica per la traduzione (la teoria di Greimas; relevance theory; standards of textuality, rethorical features); di gaze/stance/map of reality e il loro impatto sulla traduzione
• strategie/procedure della traduzione
• linguaggio specialistico del turismo del territorio in italiano/inglese  (in particolare, l’architettura, l’ambiente, le tradizioni, la gastronomia), e come tradurlo per il lettore non-specializzato  e per un cultural insider e outsider.

Le abilità da acquisire sono:

• sensibilità a riguardo l’outsider, il ‘model reader’, il contesto
• mindshifting

alla fine del corso lo studente sarà in grado di.

• tradurre dall’italiano in inglese (livello C1)  un testo turistico per un lettore internazionale producendo un testo adeguato all'originale e significativo per il lettore
• elaborare un saggio in lingua inglese al livello C1+ 
• giustificare le  scelte strategiche adoperate per la traduzione davanti un cliente usando le teorie presentate durante il corso.

Lezioni frontali, lavori di gruppo (studenti lavorano come agenzie di traduzione usando anche Bitrix24 per definire i ruoli, project-work, laboratori e seminari

Per i non frequentati e per studenti che frequentanno per meno di 27 ore (circa 75% delle lezioni): Elaborato scritto di 8 cartelle (minimo 2000 parole). Sintesi del libro Translating Cultures Capitoli: 1-6; 9-12. Esonero per gli studenti che frequentano almeno 27 ore. (idoneità)

 

1. Pre-esame propedeutico per la prova scritta). Test della competenza linguistica in lingua inglese

Test GET5. Un test linguistico, fino al livello C2 (idoneità)

 

Tema scritto basato sul set book/film (10% del voto finale)

 

2. Progetto (20% del voto finale e propedeutico per lo scritto). Test, della conoscenze delle teorie e della competenza traduttiva

A: Elaborato scritto (in gruppo di 2 fino a 4. Source text minimo 500 parole/persona): analisi e rielaborazione di una traduzione di un testo nel ambito del turismo. Da consegnare entro l’inizio della seconda semestre.

B: Traduzione (in gruppo di 2 fino a 4, minimo 500 parole/persona) di un testo nel ambito del turismo seguendo un translation brief per un cliente e un Project Management Sheet. Da consegnare entro 15 giorni di un VOL.

 

3. Prova Scritta: Traduzione (50% del voto finale e propedeutico per l’orale) Test, della competenza traduttiva

Criteri di valutazione:

–  coerenza e comunicatività del testo di arrivo
– fedeltà e accuratezza rispetto al testo originale

–– qualità del testo prodotto in lingua inglese

– capacità di produrre un testo della lunghezza richiesta nei tempi concessi

 

4. Prova orale (20% del voto finale). Test, della conoscenze delle teorie della traduzione; e dell’abilità comunicativa in lingua inglese.

L’esame (in lingua inglese) mira a valutare il raggiungimento dei seguenti obiettivi didattici:
o Conoscenza delle teorie della traduzione; delle strategie e delle procedure

o Consapevolezza delle abilità personali e del percorso cognitivo

o Abilità di articolare e difendere le decisioni traduttive prese nell'esame scritto, usando un linguaggio specializzato appropriato.
