No previous requirement. All topics will be explained in depth during lectures.

The course "Economics Tourism and Transport Services" aims at providing students the necessary elements to understand the economic dimension of the tourism and transport phenomena. It will analyze, for both sectors, demand, supply and relevant markets. 

The course aims at providing students with the necessary elements to understand the economic dimension of the tourism and transport phenomena. At the end of the course, the student should be able to understand the historical evolutions of tourism and transport and she/he should have a firm grasp of the main definitions pertaining to the tourism and transport sectors. She/He will also have knowledge of tourism and transport demand, of tourism and transport supply and of the main tourism and transport markets. Lastly, the student should acquire an awareness of the relationships among tourism, transport and local development and growth.

Lectures that will also make use of slides.

The course "Economics Tourism and Transport Services" aims at providing students the necessary elements to understand the economic dimension of the tourism and transport phenomena. The first part of the course will be devoted to a statistical description of the historical evolution of tourism and to a clear definition of the related issues. It will also analyze tourism demand and its main determinants. The second part of the course will deal with the components of tourism supply and it will investigate the relationships among tourism and local development and growth. The third part of the course will be devoted to a statistical description of the historical evolution of passenger and freight transport and to a clear definition of the related issues. It will also analyze transport demand and its main determinants and models. The last part of the course will deal with transport supply and transport markets and it will also consider the relationships between transport and tourism.
