The Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) AG is a joint venture company established with the purpose of planning, developing, building and operating the TAP natural gas pipeline. TAP’s shareholding is comprised of BP (20%), SNAM (20%), SOCAR (20%), Fluxys (19%), Enagás (16%) and Axpo (5%). The European leg of the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP has the capacity to transport 10 billion cubic metres (bcm/a) of new gas supplies to multiple markets in Europe. TAP’s 878-km transportation system crosses Greece, Albania, the Adriatic Sea & Italy and started its commercial operations in November 2020. We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to be based in Brindisi, Italy.

ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Specialist has a “key” role in the Accounting Department at TAP and shall take the responsibility for general ledger entries, invoice process with coordination with the country offices. The role will also be responsible for performing month end closing activities, preparing analysis and processing financial documents, and supporting the Accounting Manager in various accounting tasks on ad-hoc requests for all the countries where TAP operates.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Timely bookings of General Ledger entries and monthly closing of the books in SAP. Month-end closing to meet the reporting deadlines to the shareholders
• Being First point of contact for TAP country offices for all accounting matters.
• Supporting the Accounting Manager in the monthly, quarterly and annual closings and preparation of the IFRS Financial statements and local GAAP Notes.
• Being First point of contact for external and internal auditors. Preparation of supporting documents for external and internal auditors.
• Managing company ledgers, preparation and responsibility for Quarterly Accounts Reconciliations, FX activities, Cash Management
• Close cooperation with controlling department on WBS/Cost Centres/Cost objects in SAP.
• Supporting the Accounting Manager in projects such as update of the Accounting Manual based on IFRS, adjusting SAP based on Accounting Manual rules (i.e. settlement rules)
• Preparation of IFRS Forecast
• Compliance with Internal Control system and Review of ICS matrices
• Assisting the Accounting Manager with preparation of the presentations for various Leadership and BoD meetings
